Is this something you’ve heard before?
“Should I just go to my normal doctor?” says the patient.
You went to work today despite feeling ill. You’re not sure how sick you are (it could be allergies, who knows?). and you decide it’s not worth it to reschedule everything you have planned for the day. You’ll still take your daughter to ballet class, cook supper, and finish your presentation in a few hours. You know you should see a doctor, but you don’t have time to phone, leave a message, wait for a callback, be placed on hold, pull over, pull out your calendar, and finally set an appointment for two weeks from now when you know you’ll be fine!
What about that urgent care center you pass 5 times a day?
You’re well aware that what you have isn’t “urgent…”
You’re certain you won’t need to go to the emergency room…
I really appreciate how you explained more about primary care and when you should go to it. I’ve been thinking about finding a primary care doctor to take the family to. It’s good to know more about it so we can find the right fit.
